Rockola 1454 return issue

Hi all
I have experienced an issue with my rockola 1454 it's not all the time but intermittent
When I have used the juke for an evening on occasion the record refuses to return, or returns very slowly to the carousel, I have also pressed the cancel button on this does not work.
This has only happened a couple of times, the first time the carousel motor was really hot.
But I had left the juke unattended for 30 mins or so
The second time I switched it off for 10 mins, when re started all was well and working well.
I have lubed the gripper mech after the first time incident and checked the no 3 and 4 micro switches are set correctly.
Any ideas ?

Regarding your description: the magazin motor had gotten hot after the record was returned very slowly to the magazin? Or the gripper motor?

Did you check the gripper Motor itself - brushes, if it's clean inside, armature?
