Problems with a Rock-ola 403

sorry for writing in English, my German is not very good.

I am having a problem with my Rock Ola 403, when it starts to play the record. The record handle do not move in on the record, and are standing at the same position. Anyone know whats wrong?

Record handle: Do you mean the gripper which brings the record to the turntable and back into the magazine? Or do you mean the tonearm with cartridge and needle?

sorry, I was very unclear.

That will be the the tonearm with cartridge and needle.
So it will move over to the record, but their it will not move when record starts to play

So it moves to the record, sets-down - but then, though the TT is turning - it does not play the record?
Or does it not set down on the record, does not touch it?
